Yes, yesterday i put in the Guitar hero Metallica Disc in the PS3. It made an unusual sound while loading it, but i just didnt pay that much attention. Then when it was lagging several times untill it just blocked, so i got bored and stopped playing. But then when i ejected the disc i realized that it had a small tear, beggining from the central hole going up. It's not that big, not even a centimeter, but now the game just wont load. With whom whould i complain? It's frustrating to see 100 Euros just wasted.

slim or the old one ? and the XMB or the drive will not eat your disc ?

You sure it didnt exist before you put it in the ps3, i've heard people complain that the clasp that holds the disk in the case is the cause of the problem, though personally i've never had this problem.

Hi its not the ps3 that makes these small cracks. Its the boxes I have had it happen to me a few times. Call the publisher up witch in your case it would be activision.

Well, i never noticed any crack on the disc before, and it was working perfecrtly before yesterday. So the only thing i can think of is that the PS did it. Now, you say that i should complain to the publisher... Will it work? or should i complain to Sony? I really don't wanna see my money go away that easy

It is most likely caused by the case or at least removing / replacing it. Some cases seem to hold onto the disc with a vice like grip! The blu ray mechanism doesn't clamp hard enough to damage the disk so even if the disc hasn't loaded correctly it is very unlikely to be the PS3 at fault. Speak to Activision

As I said the PS3 can't break discs unless you move the console when its reading the disc. If you look around on google you can see that its the boxes that break the discs. The same happened to my Call Of Duty 4 disc it had a crack on it. So what I did was I went to the activision website and went to the contact us page. I then submitted a enquiry to them. All I said was my disc has a crack on it and it was not my fault it just appeared. I have paid £xx and its broken and I can't afford to go and buy another one. They then sent me a e-mail to me and told me to send the disc to them and they would replace it.

My Call Of Duty World At War disc has a tiny scratch.. I began to notice some freezing so I checked the dish and there they were..

Thank god it's still working now!

I also thought my PS3 was breaking my Discs since the feeder is kinda rough when it takes in my disc.

Is this possible that the feeder can scratch or damage the disc?

It has happened with me on Fifa 08 and the first Uncharted. At the back of the games manual should be some contact numbers for damaged games. EA charged £10 and sent me a brand new copy of Fifa when I sent the damaged one. Sony did the same without the charge for Uncharted.
