Where roughly are you guys based in the UK it could be a regional issue not on any coastal island/areas? that might cause a regional check problem.

It's not a regional issue, my brothers ps3 in the same house/network has the Icon.

Hi JordanBlack68 weird i am getting stumped for ideas myself i have a 40GB model and relatives that live nearby with 80GB model and two with 320GB slims and no problems.

Have you tried the Safe Mode operation in one of links and select option 4 rebuild the database?

Yes I have tried the Safe Mode option 4, Only thing it did was reset my playlists etc. The Icon still won't appear. Can't Sony just put the App on the Store so I can download it :/

Restore system defaults and signing back into the PN worked for me but what a buggar resetting all those things.

For Cxxxxx sake Sony the PS3 is about as user friendly as a cornered rat. GET IT SORTED.
