I'm using a HDMI to a HD Ready Hitatchi TV, and whilst I have had no problems in the past, today there is no sound at all coming from the PS 3. The picture is fine but there is no sound from either installed software or discs.

The TV is fine when using a HD recorder and the HDMI cable has no tears or breaks.

Is the PS3 just ganked?

Have you tried the standard AV cable provided with the console, to check if any sound is coming out of the console?

Go to your settings under sound and see if it's set up with hdmi.
