PS3 FAT Fan Noise, freezing and glitching graphics.

Hello.

Think it may be time to buy a slim :smileyhappy:

My PS3 80GB FAT has started to run it's fans flat out, they are really loud.  On top of that, playing Battlefield 3 it freezes on load, and during gameplay fairly regularly (1 in 5 loads, 1 in 10 games).  Today I noticed that the graphics in Karkand were glitching like crazy, things appearing then moving then dissapearing.  I have a 100meg connection, so my connection speed isn't it (wired connection).  So I'm thinking it's on it's last legs.

Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

Cheers.

I reckon your probably right, however you could try deleting the game data and reinstalling and updating the games. That might fix it.

Also, you could work your way through the safe mode tutorial here. But if the system hardware is failing then there isn't anything you can do besides take a backup and have a plan before it dies.

Re: PS3 FAT Fan Noise, freezing and glitching graphics.

Having the same problem here.  I have the 80g ps3 fatty first gen. All the other games work fine but Battlefield 3 has crashed and frozen many times. Mostly just by jumping into a vehicle, then bam! Freeze... So I'm going to try this and hope it works.  If not bye bye BF....

Holy Fuzzy no no's!!!
