PS3 HDD upgrade question.

I have for some time had a 500 GB Go Flex external portable HDD which is 2.5 inch eSATA running at 5400 RPM. My question is 1. Can i install this into my PS3 if i take off the enclosure and replace gthe HDD.

If that is possible, does the PS3 accept eSATA or is a specific cable needed or can i just pop it right in.

Sorry if this has been asked , just wanna get this changed over (if i can)

I wouldn't have thought you can place an external hard drive in a slot which was meant for internal hard drives.

It has to be a 2.5 inch (dimensions: 7 x 10 x 0.9cm) [GB] 5400RPM SATA Internal Hard Drive to function inside a PS3.

You can use the external hard drive with the PS3 via a USB cable, you just need a certain format. I think it's FAT 32.
