PS3 NAT Type 3 with Cisco WRT120N

Hello

I've recently bought a Cisco WRT120N router and, like my previous router, the NAT type on my PS3 console is type 3 which means I can't connect to my friends.

Does any one know how to change this?

I have not port forwarded or anything, as I'm not sure how and do not want to mess up the router's settings.

If anyone can help me change the NAT type to Open or Type 1, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: PS3 NAT Type 3 with Cisco WRT120N

If you enter the router settings menu using the manual to find the address for it, you should be able to find a DMZ menu, application sharing or Port forwarding.

If you use DMZ, all you need to do is add the IP address of the PS3 to the list, if you use application sharing, you choose PS3 from the list of applications, then choose the address for the PS3 to aasign it to. As for port forwarding. I'm not sure but you can find loads of ports youre supposed to add to make it work.

Any one of those should work. The IP address of the router is usually something like 192.168.1.1 and by entering that into your browser you should be able to log in to the admin panel. (the details will either be in the manual or on the rear/base of the router
