PS3 stuttering and needing restored ..

Hey,

Recently more and more my PS3 games have been stuttering every now and then as well as when scrolling though the XMB.

A few days ago the system hardlocked and when i rebooted it it said something along the lines of "The file system on your system is corrupt and needs to be restored". I did this and the console then began to run as normal. Now iv turned the system on and got the same error. I restored the console and when it rebooted it asked for the restore again. Again i completed it and when the system booted to the XMB the XMB appeared but no other icons would load and i could just see the the arrows spinning as if its trying to load the data. I tried to power off the system by pushing the PS button on the DS3, i selected Turn of system, the screen froze on that screen and the green light on the PS3 power button sat there flashing until i pulled the power cable out. I then rebooted the system and was asked to restore the system etc. I have gone though restoring, it showing just the XMB but nothing else, it freezing when trying to turn it off, hard resetting and restoring about 6 times now and still no joy.

The system is not even two years old.

What should i do?

Thanks

Ricky

Re: PS3 stuttering and needing restored ..

Enter ps3 safe mode and do "Rebuild database"

Is the orange hard drive light on?

Re: PS3 stuttering and needing restored ..

Then I suggest shutting off the ps3 and try rebuild database again.

Re: PS3 stuttering and needing restored ..

Have done. Any idea how long the "Preparing" screen should be up as already seems stuck there? HDD lights not flickering either.

Re: PS3 stuttering and needing restored ..

Not sure, I've never done it. If it's stuck for the same period again then I would suggest you change the hard drive.

Re: PS3 stuttering and needing restored ..

Do i have the same issue?

Several game I tried to play online and offline are stuttering each few seconds!.. First few days I could play FIFA 13 normally, but after a few days I noticed stutters in online and even offline play (unplayable).. I tried to play Borderlands 2 (online-Blueray disk) after that and there also where stutters.. Even when I tried to play Magic 2013 (offline-HDD) which I downloaded from the PSN store to my HDD i have stutters in audio and video which I normally dont have.

Is there a solution for this??

Putting ps3 back to factory settings?

Sign off from PSN?

Different user account?

Changing from wireless to wired internet connection?

I bought my PS3 two years ago so it is a new model (slim).
