It's totally horrible, even a move from my feet is heared in my headset. PLeaze sony do something, QUICK.
99€ for a headset is good price, but only if he is 100% functionnable ![]()

Here's my feedback -
I don't mind hearing myself in the headset, as I know how loud I'm speaking.
I can barely hear any static, and when I can, it's only when there is no other sound (e.g. game music) being played.
The only thing I did noticed is now when the blue LED changes to red and flashes to tell you that the battery is low, I can hear a clicking sound every time it flashes.
I would also love the option to turn off the blue LED.

An option to disable mic monitoring would be nice as it would help out all those people with problems, but if they are getting annoyed by all the sounds from there gaming enviroment invading there gaming... how do they think other gamers feel when they have these sounds blarring down thier headset on multiplayer games?
As what you hear in your headset from your enviroment with this new update is what all the other gamers hear when your in thier squad or team and have your mic on. There also needs to be an option added to turn down the sensitivity of the mic or add a sort of noise gate.

We use the Mic mute button till we need to talk. But the mic mute button doesn't stop you hearing every thing going on around you. Only way is to shut the mic off in accessories setting but then I cant talk when I need to.

Why people reponsible for this situation, DARE to say, that i scream when i use my head set? WHo the hell they think they are? I mean, when i scream, and other players complain about it, they either send msg to lower my voice, tell me that on voip or just mute me. This is so simple! If i hear somebody screaming/talking to loud i just say them this. If not working -> mute. Just like that.
Ok i know this might regard screaming on people in the same room if i play with headphones i must be alone. i mean this is rude, to play in headphones, when there is another person in the same room, and even more rude to have conversation while you wear headphones (any headphones) So i never do this. NEVER!
THIS IS SOOO FREAKIN STUPID i just cant process thiss 'great feature'. Its just too complex for my little brain i think.
OK, this might be useful to people i might live with, when they ask me something and i dont remove HS, and i reply screaming (years of practice learned me to control my voice properly to situation) ok. BUT i live alone, and for god sake i want to keep it that waym at least for now. Nobody to complain, so f**k up my HS? Ok my neighbour next doors say, that he sometimes can hear me when i swear (when i play with n00bs, die 5 time in a row etc) but he says its nothing, at least he and his family can laugh a little bit.
Maybe sony could make some little campaing - "remove headphones when talk" not make such stupid features, which makes playing annoying and imposible...
thank you, good night
p.s. i haven play on my PS3 with head set since the first day of 4.10.
SONY! DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS !!!!! PLEASE I BEG YOU!

Im having the same problem and contacted Sony....I still have it after following these steps. But if it helps one person, than I guess its somewhat good.
Sony is aware of the issue and are working on it........
Attempt 1 ( Resets settings, Background, theme, video, sound etc....does not delete anything)
To ensure that the headset is paired please Restore the Default settings on the PS3™. In order to do this navigate on the XrossMediaBar™(XMB™) to Settings --> System Settings --> Restore Default Settings --> Press X to confirm.
Once this is done please follow the steps below to reset the headset. I realize you may have done this, however, I need you to perform these steps in the outlined order.
1. Turn the PS3™ on (green power light)
2. Insert the Wireless Headset adapter into any of the USB ports
3. Insert a small pin or similar object into the hole for the reset button, and press down for at least 1 second
4. The USB adaptor will single-flash blue, repeatedly, indicating the reset.
5. With the headset on or off, insert a small pin or similar object into the hole for the reset button (located just below the “E” on the word VOLUME) and press down for at least 1 second. Please Note: The Headset will shut off if it is on.
6. Then, press and hold the POWER/MIC paddle for 5+ seconds or until the Status light turns a Solid Blue.
After you have performed these steps please make sure that the headset is paired correctly. I have provided steps below to assist you with these steps.
1. Insert the Wireless USB adaptor into the PS3™ system.
2. Press and hold the POWER/MIC MUTING button for 3 seconds.
3. Go to Accessory Settings>>Audio device settings>> set the input and output to “wireless headset”.
Attempt 2
We do have one more troubleshooting step, that may help resolve this issue. You will want to turn the Echo Cancel on. In order to set this feature:
1. Pair the headset
2. Then, on the XrossMediaBar™ (XMB™) Go to: Settings
3. Accessory Settings
4. Audio Device Settings
5. Set Input Device to Wireless Stereo Headset
6. Highlight Wireless Stereo Headset
7. Press Triangle for Options
8. Select Settings
9. Echo Canceller
10. Follow the on screen instructions
a. Place the microphone near the speakers and turn up the volume until the microphone picks up the volume.
11. Select Start
a. If you change any setting in [Audio Output Settings], the Echo Canceller will be restored to default 12. Speakers output a range of frequencies while calibrating
13. Calibration is complete.
14. Select OK to finish.
Neither worked for me....hope it helps you.

I will check it later and I hope this will help me ![]()
