Re: PS3 wireless stereo headset after 4.10 update is horrible

[ Edited ]

For what it's worth, this was posted over on the US forums about the same issue

Hey guys!

I do know that Sony is aware of teh issue and that there has been a service request to Japan (Head Office) to find a resolution to the issue. That's good news! So far there has been no resolution passed to us, but I know its being worked on. I've asked the guy in charge of that on our end to update me and the rest of our team with an update so we can post it here in the forum for you guys.

I'll lock this thread and post the update in the link you posted on the same topic when we know. If you want to repost the info here if you didn't already know from some where else.

For all other issues and updates on this headset head to this thread:

Hope that helps

Re: PS3 wireless stereo headset after 4.10 update is horrible

Hi,

Thanks for your e-mail about your PlayStation 3 (PS3) Headset. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your query.

I can see from your e-mail that you’re unhappy with changes that have been made to the microphone sensitivity following the recent PS3 System Update. I can advise that the recent PS3 System Update did include a change, that affected the audio output.

The new update has increased the overall audio level that is produced when voice chat occurs. This was planned and at this stage, there are no plans to adjust/change these settings.

If you have any other queries please call PlayStation Support on 0844 736 0595, quoting reference  where one of our team will be happy to help you.

Thank you,

PlayStation Team

Not sure if they intend on fixing this until the next schedueled system update, Activision have tried a quick fix in the MW3 update for the elite maps, now I cant hear anybody when they are talking as everybody seems distant. Even tried having the sound coming through my tv and they are even quieter.......

Seems like an all round problem now and what seems like no plans to fix it.........

Re: PS3 wireless stereo headset after 4.10 update is horrible

Hi guys,

I can confirm that this problem is been looked into and we are hoping to resolve the issue soon.

I have a couple of questions to for you which will aid the process.

1) Is the static noise present even when listening to XMB music / Watching Netflix?

2) Does the static noise occur when not using the microphone?

3) 2) Does the general Voice chat seems worse than before?

4) Aside form the issue where static noise/you can hear yourself when using the mic is there any specific examples where we can tell the voice chat is generally performing worse than before the system update?

Once I have answers to the above from a few of you I can pass them on and hopefully get this issue resolved ASAP.

Cheers,

SFZ

1) No

2) Static noise is only heard when microphone is enabled, i.e. playing multiplayer games or in Audio Device Settings menu.  Muting the microphone from the headset has no effect on the static noise, only disabling microphone from Audio Device Settings makes it go away.

3) and 4) Other than static sound and hearing your own voice and voices around you, no problems.
