This issue is affecting the official 7.1 surround headset.

2 of my friends have the headset as well and they are also experiencing the same problems as I have: static noises, hearing our own voices, sometimes the static noise can be defeaning. I tried everything possible and the only solution seem to be only to close the microphone output which is ridiculous considering I bought the damn headset to speak with my friends.

To those saying that you're not experiencing any problems with it. You either are playing single player, haven't updated 4.10 yet, or you are just lucky or you don't have the headset at all.

For god sake I brought these to Cut out the world round me , Now if any thing they amplify the world round me .

Usually play muted so I can listen to my team then just un mute if I want to talk .

Have to turn the mic in the XMB to stop it now , so I cant talk bloody ridiculous !

These are useless to me now !! might as well just leave the TV speakers on with my bluetooth ear piece in. .

I believe this was the purpose of the update as it was said they were adding mic monitoring (hearing your own voice in a headset helps to stop shouting, all the good quality headsets have it like my PX5's) to the headset and for me it works fine...

I must be lucky as i own the headset, played online on battlefield 3 multiplayer last night for 4 hours so obviously have the 4.10 update and mine works perfect. The mic monitoring is spot on.

i understand the need to hear yourself, and it doesn't seem to be too bad to me, i dont hear anything around me really, and there's the echo settings to change how much around you that you can hear (i think).. its just the static noises that are annoying

The static sounds like interference to me, try disabling your wi fi on your router and see if it helps.

Also can some of you try these settings with your headset and see if it helps...... Voice and sound set at 4 dashes up from voice (the white mark in the middle of the slider) and your volume slider at about half way... thanks.

Tried using my wireless stereo headset again today and the buzzing noise came back tried muting the mic to stop all the outside noise but does not work. It's annoying trying to play games and u can hear the tv. Still not sure how to fix this any ideas would be helpful. Thx

Agreed however some people want the option to turn this off.  A choice is always better

yes this is *****ty now, i bought the headset before 4.10 and loved it.....now the only sound i hear is the fan blowing on the mic, like im in a freaken snowstorm.....
