When I try to switch my ps3 on - the light goes from red to green  then briefly goes orange I hear 2 beep's & the light goes to a flashing red light

Oh......I think you may have YLOD! (Yellow Light Of Death) it happened to my 40gb Fat over a year ago.

OMG, i"ve got the same problem too. I was playing SF X Tekken and all of a sudden the PS3 just switched off automatically. I trtied turning it back on and like u said, the light goes from red to green  then briefly goes orange I hear 2 beep's & the light goes to a flashing red light. Argh, our PS3's are gone. Can we report this to Sony and get it repaired?

Unfortunately, this means your PS3 has broken. You'll need to call Sony customer support and inform them and they'll give you a repair/refurbishment. This usually costs between £100-£150.

This has happened to my PS3 only a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to get the retailer Game to refund me or replace my console. Under the sale of goods act 1979. I have the receipt for my console and I obtained an engineers report from PS3 Pros based in London they could not repair my console and did not charge me. I am awaiting a reply from Game.
