Hi friends,

I got a ps3 from my brother which is in demonstration mode. When I tried to access playstation network , I am unable to access that and it is showing like " This operation cannot be performed in demonstration mode " . I tried in all forms to get rid of this. I want to permanently unlock the demonstration mode. somehow i checked in some forums to unlock the ps3 from demo mode with some codes but after restrating the ps3 it is again going back to demo mode.

 I want permanent solution for this and I want to play online and I am new to ps3. please help.

Now my ps3 is in 4.11 version .

there is no permanant solution but what i do is i get the code put it in the security settings code space. then i go to security settings and goto change password, type in the code again and the use the new pass as 0000,1111,2222,3333....etc any one works, just use something easy to remember, when it updates again take the new code and do the same thing

Your brother should never have gotten his hands on a retail demo console to start with. They're meant for displaying in retail outlets like Game and HMV. They're not for home use, and they're considered the property of SCEI. There is no way to permanently unlock the console, it will always revert to demo mode whenever it's switched on. So you're stuck with it.

It's not a "real" PS3 and if you are unsure of its origins. May have been pinched from a shop. If you call Sony and are incredibly polite then they may exchange it for a retail one for returning their unit

hover over Security Settings and press: L1+R1+Select+Square at the same time. Than you wil be able to enter the password).

the password: 4801

and it will torn it off but when u torn on u have to do the code
