Hi all

As the title says, when i switch on my playstation, i get to the main page and about 30 seconds later the screen goes all fuzzy and then about 5-6 seconds after that the console freezes up, and I am unable to switch the console off using the front power icon, I can only switch it off at the back.

I have checked the HDMI cable which still works fine with my Blu-Ray player, I have used the self-maintenance feature to get rid of all internal dust, but it still goes wrong. About 3-4 months ago I got the YLOD fixed.

Any help is vastly appreciated.

When the PS3 was "fixed" was this done using the "Hairdryer trick"?

When the console goes all wobbly, if you hold the front power buttton for around 20-30 seconds, will it power off?

As far as i know, the company that fixed it, put it under a heater of some sort and smoulded the part that had come loose back on. Other than that in not sure.

To me, that sounds like the same sort of idea. They did that on watchdog and claimed it was a fix, however it just resulted in them failing worse later.
