Playstation Plus Online Storage - Progress Overwritten

Hi There,

Really annoyed and just checking that there is no way to revert back to my last save.

I have ps+ and was using the online saves for Gran Turismo 5.

6 months ago my ps3 got the ylod and after fixing a few times I got myself a new slimline ps3.

Everything has been working fine since getting new console.

The other day though i thought I would have a game of GT, which I has spent quite a few hours playing on old ps3 had about 80 cars, had my liciences and had complete quite a bit of the A & B challenges.

I suddenly remembered that I had not used GT on my new PS3 and when GT started I'm back to square 1, day1 no money no cars. GUTTED.

My mate then told me how to get my save off of the online storage but as it was the next day, the online storage has been overwritten with the new save day1, no cars, no money.

There should be something in place to stop this happening, at least a prompt to say that you are going to overwrite all your progress or at least show some history of game saves. The game should have downloaded my save from the storage as it had progressed more than the local version.

I'm never going to go through all the hours again and get my licences, my trophys still clearly show that I had done quite a bit of the game, so no point in playing anymore.

I'm guessing there is no way to get the last backup? %£!$U*

Rant over.

Ta

You're right I'm afraid. There's no way to get your last backup back. Usually, for this to work correctly, you would download the save before playing which would save you the trouble.

There's no harm playing it again :smileytongue: You could do it differently with other cars to get back to where you were, then carry on from there. Have your friends play with you too. It makes it more fun :smileytongue:

Try searching for the hairdryer trick. If you can get that to work you may salvage a few hours of use.

Re: Playstation Plus Online Storage - Progress Overwritten

But What if you don't erase it? I copied over a May Payne 3 save. I even I had my friend setup his user on my PS3. But when we get in to it the overwrite things pops up. I can't remember if it was on his user or mine....Probably mine(shrugs).

How can I access the save?!?!?

Re: Playstation Plus Online Storage - Progress Overwritten

Not Sure if this would work but when I was coping over all the data from my old one I remember looking up as much as I could to avoid loosing anything, the one thing alng here I thought might help is that in my case the old hard drive is still intact and readable in fact by swapping back I could use and game that was activated on the old hard drive but not on the new (mobile broadband so couldn't activate) if you happen to take the drive out, (don't know if turn off your cloud saves as I don't have PSN+) and put it in the new playstation you might be able to back up to a USB Drive if the data is still intact and the Backup fuction was added in the game (I belive it was added in a update), not sure if it'd work as I've only the one but an Idea you could try, I hope it works out for you
