Please Help!!!

When i turn on my ps3 a page appears that reads "the file system on the system storage is corrupted and will be restored"  underneath that message there is only one option and that is "ok".so wheni click ok the ps3 downloads/installs this thing and then when it is complete it says "the system will now restart" then the screen goes black for a minute or so until the system restarts. However when the system restarts i am faced by the same page and have to start all over again. Please help as i am unable to reach the home page and therefore unable toplay any games. If you have any idea of how to fix this problem or even a customer support number for sony (i live in ireland) that would much appreceated. THANK YOU

Hi.

Here's a link to get into safe mode kindly posted by Rabidwalker.

Hopefully you'll have better luck restoring your console from there.

Hi markennedyatlive,

I'm glad you got this fixed (and thankyou for the suggestion!)

I might put up a video showing how to do Safe Mode on my YouTube channel.

Any more issues let me know!

Rabid

Hi markennedyatlive. I'm sorry i couldn't respond to your post when you was having trouble getting into safe mode, i've been away for the weekend and only just got back. I'm glad you managed to get it sorted in the end. The vid was a good find btw. And thanks RabidWalker, putting the vid on your you tube channel would be a great help to lots of people in the future. :smileyhappy:

Re: Please Help!!!

Hi guys!

Im having the same kind of problem but it is a little more severe now. My PS3 button turns from red to green but does not load anything on my TV screen. When I press the button again to either turn off or restart but the button is jammed. So I have to cut power either by pulling off the wire or by the main switch. I understand this is not the right thing to do but even if I keep pressing the button for like a few mins, it does not do any difference. Can anyone please help as sometimes my PS3 turns on fine after like weeks of trying...and sometimes it gives me a real hard time that I have to give up. I had extended warranty for which I sent my PS3 to Carrefour (Dubai, UAE) and also got it back after a month...It worked fine for a week, but then the problem started again by the time which my warranty had expired. Any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Please Help!!!

Try holding power until the system beeps a second time when you're trying to boot up. This should force the PS3 to redetect the display and show some form of picture for you.

Re: Please Help!!!

Hi there "strangeplaice"...thanks for getting back....Ive tried holding button for long but it doesnt beep...only if the button is sometimes not jammed, then the second beep comes and PS3 turns off ..but that is only rarely...mostly the button sensor is jammed or the system is jammed/stuck i guess...

Re: Please Help!!!

If the system isn't even giving you a power beep, then I'd consider sending it in for repair, or buying a replacement. A refurb is £150 out of warranty, or free if your console is less than a year old.

You can find the Customer Support, whom can arrange this for you here.
