No. Everything is perfect, brand new, bought in the UK, UK spec. PS3 is fully updated. playback settings have been played with and put back to default. This is the only disc I have an issue with.

Its possible the discs are from a different region and so won't play on a EU ps3.   If your freinds ps3 can play it his could be an imported one.

it may also be that the console is an import from another region and so wont play the disc but i think this is unlikely since it can play other discs fine.

Sory for resurrecting an old thread. Just received the UK disc from amazon.co.uk and it also wont play on EU PS3 slim CECH-2004B with 320 GB hdd. It plays well on laptop and first gen PS3 CECHC04 60GB. They are both updated to 3.73. I guess it must be something with 200x. This is the only disc I have ever encountered an error on either console.

I have the very same problem. I bought The Prodigy - World's on fire Bluray in past year. I had old fat PS3 60GB and the disc worked fine. In december I've changed PS3 fat to PS3 Slim 320GB and there is the problem - disc doesn't work (error 80029903). It's not the scratch on disc or region problem or something like that - it is something wrong with PS3 Slim and Sony should look at this. I hope that someone from Sony will hear our problem and will fix it with one of next firmware updates.

It's really a shame that i can't playback my new Blu-ray concert od PS3 :/... What's wrong? Can anyone reply in this topic from sony's administration? What should we do? PS3 is a Bluray player or not? Really, really shame...

i know this is an old thread but the problem still exsists. i bought a copy when it came out and it worked fine on my fat ps3. one drunken visit by my brother later and i found myself needing a new ps3, and since the fat is no longer available  i had to settle for a slim. when i tried to play worlds on fire i got the 80029903 code (this is an invalid disc). i cant return the disc as this was part of a very expensive birthday present, it came as a collectors bundle that isnt even listed on thier site anymore. i know that people call for help on these forums and that sony are renowned for not listening but something needs to be done about it. it cant just be this one blu ray thats f'ed up

works fine on my slim m8

had the bluray since launch day and never had a problem with it

Check the disk is unmarked, doesn't have a clingfilm layer (some special editions do), and make sure the PS3 is on firmware 4.11.

Not all disks are compatible with the PS3, though most are.

i'll say it again. it worked fine on the fat ps3 just not on my new slim ps3. and being told to check the disc for scratches and stuff is the equivilant of phoneing a computer help line and being asked to check to see if its turned on.

It's always worth checking to be sure. Try on another persons slim PS3 if you can. It might well be that that model isn't compatible.

Hi! I have just bought the same Blu-ray as in the topic and I have also 320Gb PS3 and get exactly the same problem. I think it can be some kind of bug either firmware or hardware.
