PlayStation®3 Technical Help

basically when i load up a game i get a black screen most of the time and there is always an odd occasion that the game will work. i tried all discs, same problem.

my ps3 makes some strange noise when a disc is inside the ps3.

i tried taking disc out putting it back in and i tried turning off the ps3 and turning it but it seems to not work. i also took out my hard drive and put it back in and my ps3 worked for 5 days but the problem started again

can someone please help Me!!!

What model of console have you got, and have you tried the console on another TV at all?

It sounds as though it could be an alignment issue with the drive if it's making funny noises and only working intermittently. Rabid and Co may be able to help more if you can identify the model of PS3 though.

The PS3 is 120gb and when loading the game the HDD doesn't flash and i also tried it on another TV no luck

Presumably S_K you have no issues with loading downloaded games from the store? or this has the same issue as the disc media.

So its a slim console, is this going into an HDTV, and what resolution are you outputting? It does sound like an issue may lie with the console if this is reoccuring, but its worth seeing if we could try some troubleshooting.

It is going in to an HD TV but i do not use a HDMI cable as i use the scart cable that came with the Ps3.

I have not tried any games from the store how ever it the same issue happened with netfilx.

how will you try Trouble shooting?

trust me it has nothing to do with resolution as i have tried changing settings and the same problem occurs

yes and it still doesnt work can i also add that when i put the disc in the circle thing in the top right hand corner keeps rotating and it takes like one or more minutes for the disc icon to pop up

The more I'm hearing, the more it's sounding like a disk drive problem. You've not used a lens cleaner or anything in it at all have you?
