Good day all,

I have been having the following problem for about a week now.

I have a Samsung Full HD 3D tv, I successfully set the ps3 display resolution to 1080p by automatic configuration, and the tv picked up that 3D content can be played on 720p and 1080p.

I managed to play Killzone 3 in 3D for about 3 nights but after that the resolution bombs out. 

I had to reset the console, after that the resolution can only be set to 460 or 720p.

The ps3 does pick up that i can display in 1080, however when selecting this resolution the display is set out of the tv border bounds, I see about less than half of the system top display, when accessing a game the resolution fixes it self, but in system is where the problem is.

I know this is not the tv, as I have my pc hooked up on it and displays correctly through hd.

Anyone experienced the same? and what is a fix for this?

Hi Marchosius,

This is very strange, have any changes been made to the setup since this issue occured? Have you been able to try an alternative socket on the TV or a different HDMI cable at all?

Have you tried a Video reset by holding the power button while the console is in standby, details of how to do this can be found here (look at resetting video output settings). Also what model of TV do you have this plugged into?

Thanx for the response to this.

Yes I have reset the console, this was when it placed my output on 460 or 640, I had to manually select 720p, which works fine. Higher than that then the same issue occurs. I have tried using a another hdmi cable and did try each of the 4 hdmi ports on the tv.

And when I have the console automatically select the resolution it gives me 1080p, and that is then setting the display out of the tv border bounds.

I have kept the setup the same since last time used, on my older tv I had the same setup, only difference on this tv is the 3D capability.

Im running version 4.11, the newer version is not yet released for my region.
