I'm playing my 2k11 and it freezes and I reset the ps3 and it doesn't load any type of game I don't know what's wrong with it even with my brand new saints row 3 will not read the icon spins for about three seconds and just stops and you see absolutely nothing! i had this ps3 since 2010 and i had no problems until now. Is it the laser or something>? Can Someone please reply it would be much appriecated

Try the following and let us know how each goes:

• Insert a CD and listen to some of the songs. Do they play okay?
• Insert a DVD and see if it plays without jumping/skipping failing. Does it work?
• Insert a PS2 game. Does it show the "unknown disk/PS2 game" message?
• Play a PS3 game/demo off the Hard disk. Does that play okay?
• Insert a BluRay movie, can it play through without freezing?
• Insert a friends PS3 games, preferrably one you have and one you don't. Do theirs play okay?

This will hopefully identify any disk drive problems.

I have the same problem, I put the cd in and nothing happens, after a couple seconds it sounds like the cd wants to eject. But it stays there. And after this it just stays like this. I tried to put the system on Run CD automatically, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

It seems like its the Blue-ray Reader thats acting weird?

Hi Gellio,

Yes I'm afraid it does sound like the Blu-Ray player in your console has developed a fault.  Is is under a year old?  If so you should be able to get a replacement under warranty.  Best bet is to contact your local PlayStation Support to discuss your options.

I'ts been over a year since I bought the Playstation I think.

The PlayStation is not a user serviceable product so I cant advise you on repairing it yourself but of course its your property so feel free.

Contact Support and see what they can offer you out of warranty.
