Screen Black (PS3 Slim 320)

"System software can not run correctly" I'm then being invited to re-install system software but it won't recognise update data version 4.21 which is what it's telling me to install.

Is my system beyond repair?

Re: Screen Black (PS3 Slim 320)

The firmware file must be placed in the following directory of your flash drive: PS3 > UPDATE, and the folder names must be in capital letters. Otherwise the PS3 will not detect the firmware file.

Thanks for response, unfortunately I'd already done as you suggested after checking how to on You Tube.  So back to original question.... is system beyond repair?

Try a different hard drive.

Re: Screen Black (PS3 Slim 320)

Thanks for suggestion, I'd already  sent off PS3 to be mended, they originally suggested it was a hard drive fault but after hard drive was replaced it made no difference and problems persisted.  So basically it's already been diagnosed and been sent back to me as "unmendable"
