Hello all,
This is my first post here so please be gentle. ![]()
I have an older Samsung 56" DLP - HLN567WX
Went out and myself a PS3 so my wife could watch the LotR BluRay Extended blahblahblah she got for her birthday. Been wanting a PS3 for a while so i figured that was a legitimate reason to buy one.
Got home hooked up the Monster Component cables I got along with it to play HD.
Couldnt get it to display at all, so went and got the Official Sony component cables and still wouldnt work. Did some finagling on the settings of the TV and the PS3 finally got component to recognize and got 480p/720p/1080i set up (TV doesnt support 1080p)
Well, everytime i try and play any BluRay movie, be it Space Balls or a Looney Toons collection or the LotR collection, TV says Unsupported Mode. I can play DVDs without issue on the PS3 but BluRay just does not play. Bluray plays through composite cables (red/yellow/white RCA) but not through component (Green/Blue/Red/Red/White)
Could there be a setting I am missing or is it because the TV doesnt support 1080p? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tony

Can you site any references to that statement ordos?
Tried googling it and I seem to find contradicting arguments.
Just trying to see if I need a new TV or not.
Seems like gameinformer and geek[dot]com said posted official statements from Sony about it.
Guess im SOL.
Thanks for the help, Ordos
