I have a new PS3 160gb which replaces my deceased 80gb one (lasted 4y4m).

I am trying to enter the serial number on the webpage to register it with Sony via My PSN / My Account  however where you enter the serial number the last catagory is a drop down menu with a list of references.

This is where I encounter a problem with entering the serial number.  The website wont let me for the following reason:

My serial number ends with 3003A but the ones offered in the dropdown do not go any higher than 2508B.

The PS3 was purchased from GAME stores UK today.  Its brand new and functioning fine as far as I can tell as far as PSN, friends & trophies is concerned.  What can I do to get this registered to me ?

Looks like you have one of the latest version of the Slim and Sony haven't updated the website with the new model numbers you will have to keep checking till its been updated.

Yeah I was assuming it was something like that. I will set up up a reminder in outlook to watch out for that once a week or so. Bit clumsy of Sony not to have the dropdown based on an active list of valid serial numbers. It would not be hard to link it to a database.

Currently as Chriswsm states, the dropdown to register the console does not have all the up to date models. I have fed this back internally, however currently registering is not a neccesity for warranty (or other purposes). If I have any additional information available in regards to this I will update.
