My ps3 keeps turning off whenever i play games, but when im streaming films or watching Iplayer etc. it's absolutly fine. Was wondering if this had happened to anybody else because my warranty ran out

i found something on the internet that said that but my ps3 can be just turned on and cold, and after ten mins BAMMMMM of again, at times i feel like headbutting it, it may help

Yes that works. But to make it super work record your self doing it and upload it to youtube.

Does it turn off playing all games ? I mean those on discs as well as from the PSN Store ? If it's just disc based games I would guess your blu-ray drive might be dying but it is only a guess.... Can you play music from CDs on the PS3 without it shutting down ? Again can you play DVDs ?

im not sure if it turns off with all my games, but it definatly not liking black-ops atm. It doesnt turn off when i play downloaded games. I will also try a dvd and cd and see if it cuts off. Its just annoying because i can sit with the ps3 on all day and its fine, shove black-ops in and 15 mins later its off. I REALLY DONT WANNA BUY A NEW ONE lol

If its having problems playing disc based games it might only need a new blu-ray drive....

trade it as working with e.g game shop  before it goes altogether
