have downloaded update 4.11 to memory stick plugged into playstation pressed start & select keeps comming up no applicable data found

Hi , format USB stick to FAT32 ( ps3s use this type FAT32)
1. Create new folder , name it PS3
2. Open this first Folder and create a new folder in this , name it UPDATE
3. Open up this second folder .... Place your PS3UPDAT.PUP in this .

So PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP should show at the top of the flash drive window.
All folders names NEED TO BE IN CAPITALS for it to work. Update data 4.11 must be downloaded from YOUR regions
website ( eg.playstation.eu Playstation.us) Try this

I'm having the same problem. I have tried using different USB Sticks and USB hard drives, still no luck.

Try running this tool to format the drive before following the above steps from 1 to 3.

^Make sure you don't end up formatting the hard disk of your PC by accident
