Hi,

I tried to download 4.11 using wireless but this failed so downloaded with a USB which was successful.  I've registered a new account on-line and have a user ID but would like to connect my PS3 to the internet.  When I test the internet connection it says successful, but then try to log in my email address which is longer than the number of characters allowed - can you help?  I cannot activate the PS3.

In addition I still haven't got to the bottom of why the above error code appears.  I've tried various suggestions including disabling media server connection but with no success.  My wireless router is a Netgear DG834G v3.

That error indicates the connection is timing out. Check the quality of the network connection. If your signal is >70% and you're getting it then you may want to contact your ISP and have them check your broadband line.

 As for the email address, try changing to a shorter email address, even if it means creating a new email account. You can change the email address in account management here.

 And finally, the activation one, you can only activate 2 PS3's on your account, so if you have more the activation will fail. Also, if you have a slow/unstable connection it may be timing out.
