ive had my ps3 jus over a year 250gig slim line and its starting to go wrong disc read errors on mw3 keeps freezing and wont load hardly any games ive spent £100's of pound on this ps3 and its *****ed

What error messages and code/s are you getting?

I disagree entirely with your title though. Your PS3 may be broken, it may not. However Sony is a huge company, not just your PS3

its not even reading mw3 now its making a funny noise like its swallowing it

and when i put a game in such as mw3 , battlefield 3 , fifa 12 it comes up with  ' an error occurred during the start operation ( 80010514

Unfortunately it sounds as though the disk drive has packed in This is the knowledge center article about it:

As it's out of warranty there's a charge of around £130 for a replacement console. If you would like a replacement, you can contact Sony through their call center number which you can find here.

 If you feel this is too expensive, you may be able to pay someone less to have the current one fixed, though there's no guarantee it'll work for long.

i can get mw3 to work by shaking the ps3 it works for about 5 minutes then it crashes the whole lot

it reads dvds perfectly no problem there and it alwayz reads f1 2011 so im confused

it worked last week i got a whole day outta it now its dead and like ***** am i gonna pay 130 pound for it i myt aswell go buy a second hand one

Any form of movement of the PS3 whilst it's on is likely to cause even more damage. Never hit/Move/punch/drop or otherwise abuse your PS3 when on. And be careful when it's off too!
