ps3 problems help

When my ps3 is turned on, the hdd indicator light blinks orange and then stops blinking and there is no light also there is no sound or display on my tv does that mean the hdd is corrupted?

Have you tried a reset of the video settings?

From the standby (red light) mode of the PS3, hold the power button until you hear a beep AND see the green power LED flash green. This should reset the video settings.
