ps3 stops working

having a problem playing dvds. all of a sudden the ps3 just stops working, as if the power has been cut, goes to a blank screen and also has issues with the sound playing after it has cut out. any ideas or is the console about had it?

my ps3 has stopped reading discs, i have done everything i have found on the internet and have had NO success what so ever, if anyone knows what could have gone wrong with the ps3 OR have had the same problem plz let me know,      THANKS
