Just like to add that i am getting a 3d experience Without a 1.4 hdmi lead.., now am not sure if i bought a 1.4 it would improve my picture, but i think that it would be by a matter of degrees and nothing extreme if it was to.. btw i use a 0.5m belkin for ps3, dont know the specs but for £34.99 (argos) for such a small lead it must be half decent, got it for half price for buying another item.. But the one i use on my cable (virgin) hd box is only a cheap one, but 'seems' to show 3d movies/documentaries in a good way... i asked about the 1.4 lead in a electrical store and was told it's basically a future product.. ie made for tech thats not even availabe yet.. But if so many people seem to be convinced their required then obviously i,not being tech savvy by any means defer to the majority opinion.

Youre right mate. A 1.4 cable is not needed by the ps3 for 3D. The ps3 uses 1.3a for its HDMI output,so all you need is a 1.3 cable. Anyone telling others they need 1.4 to achieve 3D on their ps3  are basically wasting people's money. I got a 3Dtv the other day and Im still using the same cable that I bought bout 2 n half years ago and Im playing games and watching blu-rays in 3D. Funnily enough, its not a 1.4 cable

*HDMI 1.3 has enough bandwith for 720p60 (games) and 1080p24 (movies) framepacking 3D, which is basically why sony are able to achieve this on 1.3 spec.

A 1.4 cable is the usual advice to be safe. Not all 1.3 cables are actually as they say they are and can fall short on the requirements for the PS3. Also, you're better off with the latest cable you can get at the lowest price you can find anyway. Should the PS4 or a new Satellite box come out that isn't bundled with a HDMI 1.4 cable, you're in luck if you have one on your PS3

Hi, wondered if anyone could help? I got a 3D tv yesterday, shows Sky 3D content fine. I have all Jak and Daxter games purchased through the ps store and they display in 3D (asks if want to play in 3D mode) but for some reason my GT5 and Batman discs will not display correctly (not asked if want to play in 3D). Confused is not the word right now! Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

I have the same exact problem my Tv displays 3d just fine with vudu movies online. When I bought the ps3 I bought call of duty and batman arkham city. I got the batman game specificly bcuz it was 3D the call of duty did not have a 3d symbol yet it asks if I want to use 3d and am able to play it on 3D the batman game doesn't ask at all and when i switch it manually it looks all F@$& upd what is really going on
