Blinking Red Light

Hi

I was playing Resistance 2 online and suddenly the Playstation turned off and started blinking a red light. When I try to turn it back on, it blinks green, yellow, green and then goes back to blinking red.

Is there any way to fix this?

Please use plain text.

Oh :smileysad:

Do you have the Australian number for support? When I look for it, I can only see the New Zealand number.

You'll find the number in the back of any game manual :smileyhappy:

Instead of posting useless information how about posting the number. 1300 365 911

Yea, it sounds like your PS3 overheated and died. Thats called YLOD (Yellow Light Of Death). If its under warranty then send it to $ony, if not goto your local repair center and they will fix it cheaper and probably better and a LOT faster.
Local repair centers usually take 1-2 days, $ony repair center takes 6 weeks.
PS3 - It only DID everything, now it does A LOT LESS THAT IT DID.

Thanks. What do you mean by local repair? Where can I find out more about local repairs? Also my Resistance 2 game is still inside.

Re: Blinking Red Light

To remove your disc, assuming you have a phat PS3, turn off the power switch at the back of the console, press and hold the eject button and turn the power switch back on. The fans should go into overdrive and your disc should spit out.

As for repairs, I sent mine to Beetronix. They were not able to repair mine, but the upside is no fix no charge.

Go buy an Xpox NF and drop the attitude which always seems to pop up

It's not useless information, its a simple matter of looking on the last page of a game manual.

I don't happen to know the number off by heart, obviously you do since your PS3 keeps breaking down...........no doubt through your lack of knowledge of how to operate it :smileywink:

My PS3 breaks down COZ $ony send me faulty ones. It's THEIR fault its got so many problems. I didn't fix it so how can I be the one to blame.

And I already have 4 Xbox360s so why would I want to buy another one? They are all working fine, its this 1 PS3 that I'm having all the trouble with.

And your post was useless as you never gave him the number. You could've found it and posted it and helped him out like I did. It only took me about 5 seconds to do it.

And the local repairer would be the local repair shop close to you. I cant help with anymore in that problem as I don't know where he lives. If I knew I could direct him to a good repairer as I know a few in different states of Aus.
