Ok, so basicall, this is what happens:

The Ps3's standny button turns on, the color of red. when i try to turn it on, it does. thats not the problem. atleast after 4 seconds, the green button turns off automaticaly and the eject button flashes. after about 7 seconds the Ps3 makes a kind of sound that a laptop makes when you press and hold the power button on it, then, it turns off. Please help!

Hey there,

I'm not sure what sound a laptop makes...

If your console is having power issues, you'll only need to mind the power light (on the far right of the console)

Can you please indicate what colours and behaviour the power light is exhibiting and we can let you know what the problem may be.

Alternatively, contact your local PlayStation Support Centre for some real time advice :smileyhappy:

ok, so basically when you turn it on the usuall green button turns on. then after the green button turns off, the eject button starts to flash rapidly. after that, its off.

Re: My Ps3 is stuffed up!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi again,

So, you're saying the power light turns off completely?

This would indicate a lack of power, obviously.

To ensure it's not an external factor, replace the power cable, ensure you're not using a power board, and use a different power outlet. If the problem still occurs, then it's more than likely the console itself.

If this is the case, contact your local PlayStation Support Centre as advised above :smileyhappy:

..and then it stopped working.

Seems like 40cm was enough to shake something loose. You should get it serviced by someone who is qualified to do so and someone authorised by Sony if it still under warranty (although that particular damage won't be technically covered by warranty if Sony can be bothered to prove that you dropped it).
