PLaystation not playing games

My ps3 will open the game get a bit into the menu of the game and then crash, but it doens not always crash at the same time What is wrong? I thought it could be the game i am using but it keeps changing and cutting out at different places so i am not sure. The playsation reads other games and they work fine. This one game however has no visiblescratches on it nor does it have any smudges it is clean.
What is wrong with the game?
