Hi, I got YLOD last night while playing TTT2 (Tekken Tag Tournament 2), it just suddenly went off and beeps 3 times and shows yellow light before flashing red light.

I cannot go to recovery mode but I got the disc out by doing the Fan Test.

Is there any hope on fixing this without losing my save files?

Short answer: No.

If you send the console in to Sony for repair, they will reformat the harddrive. If they send you a replacement, it will be shipped as from the factory.

You could try one of the myriad methods of reflowing the solder on your motherboard just to get the unit working long enough to make a backup. Check on YouTube for details.

In future, I would suggest keeping a backup of your saves. Keep in mind that this won't work for copy protected saves, unless you subscribe to Playstation Plus and use their cloud storage for backup.

i have the same problem in my 60GB Console , when i play TTT2 the console turns off and the red light flashes (no yellow light) . i tried many games and they were working fine , That means the problem is in this game only (Tekken Tag Team Tourment 2) and not with all ps3 models , maybe the 40s & 60s only

The flashing red light without the brief yellow light beforehand indicates overheating. Is your console in a well ventilated area that is free of dust?

My brother in law have a 60GB console when he play TTT2 the console turns off. Is not a coincidence is a software problem in fat console

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Playstation Console.

If your console is dispalying a Yellow Light, this indicates an unspecified hardware issue, and you would need to have this console replaced through our Support Centre.

Unfortunately if you do not have a back up of your save game data, you will lose all this information as the Hard Drive will be formatted when the unit is sent to our Service Centre.
