PS3 is not wirelessly connecting to controllers and headsets.

I have two PS3s. One doesn't read discs anymore because the BlueRay is fried, and the other was perfectly fine until today.

It didn't respond at all to a controller that was paired with it. I plugged the controller into the USB, and it connected, but once unhooking the USB, the PS3 disconnects to the controller as well, as if it wasn't connected at all.

The controllers ARE charged. I have reset the PS3 in hopes that the bluetooth feature would run smoothly, but to no luck.

Help is VERY MUCH appreciated. :<

Have you tried the reset button on the bottom of the controller about a cm to the right of the screw???

To clarfiy, the best way to do this is:

With the controller plugged into your console via the USB cable, locate and press in the indented button on the back of the controller (described above). You'll need an object like a paperclip or toothpick.

Once the button is pressed, you'll note the lights on the controller should turn off. Keep holding the button in for a further 5 seconds, then release.

Pressing the PS button on your controller should then resync it and resolve the problem.

If this problem occurs with more than one controller, then I'd suggest there may be an issue with the console.

For good measure, try your controllers on a different console, if possible as well.

Best course of action: Back up any data that cannot be replaced. (Save game data - found in Game -> Saved Data Utility and any personal media - Photo, Video, Music)

Then, on your PS3, go to Settings -> System Settings -> Restore Default Settings. Follow the prompts and this may resolve your issue.

This will clear all settings, including BlueTooth pairings - depending on the problem, it may not allow you to use a controller at all with the console.

Also try a hard reset.

Turn off the console and take the power out for min of 30 mins

I did this with my 40 gb and never had an issue since.
