PlayTV stopped working

I've had PlayTV for about 6 months, and it's suddenly gone haywire. Previously it was working relatively well, with the odd stutter or stumble during bad weather, and the odd issue with recording a program. However now it's more off than on - completely freezing, showing an image, then a burst of sound, then nothing, then an image and on most channels, just a blank screen.

Nothing's changed on my side - same arial, same cables etc. I've tried moving the cables around, re-routing them so they avoid any other electrical devices, tried rebooting, re-powering up the playTV, using a different USB cable between PlayTV and PS3 - nothing's made a difference.

I'm on the latest download of the software and when i plug the cable directly into the TV it works perfectly.  Given it was working before, and works for the TV, doesn't seem like a signal strength problem.

My only thought is that my wife wore it out watching The Voice too much. Any suggestions about what i can try to fix it / get it working again ?

Please use plain text.

Un-install the PlayTV software, then re-install it....might do the trick

As mentioned above, uninstalling, reinstalling should resolve it at least.

When you delete the data, all your recorded programs will go along too - be mindful of this.

To delete PlayTV - navigate to the TV/Video Services menu, and find PlayTV - press 'triangle' and Delete.

Then locate the 'Game' menu - scroll down to 'Game Data Utility' and press 'triangle' and Delete on 'PlayTV Recordings and Settings'.

Restart your console and put the disc back in to reinstall.

In regards to the signal working on the TV - there is a necessary difference. Your TV will have an in-built

amp/tuner. The PlayTV box does not, and this may account for any difference in reception.

Re: PlayTV stopped working

When I do the channel set-up scan on PlayTV, as the progress bar moves along, at a number of locations it shows signal strengths between 95- 100% but does not load any channels. At the end of the scan  it says Channel scan Failed.

I've had it set-up in the same location for about 2 years with constant hickups on the nine network, perfect on all other channels but now I have no channels at all.

Any suggestions?
