When handing over control of the PS3 to Play TV , the playstation closes down instead of going on stand by, hence no recordings. Have tried re- installing, formatting etc.

Your PS3 should always have a green or red light on it, unless it has been unplugged or switched off* (*fat models only)

Are you saying the power light turns off completely? When does this occur?

Hi sbs,the light goes out completely when  Play tv has been programmed & closed down.Used to go red (from green) ,now closes down completetly.Needs physical switching on at the main switch.

Thought maybe a loose connection at the main switch ,but too co-incidental.   G.

P.S. May have to format & start over.

At this point, I'd suggest calling your local Support Centre to determine where the issue may lie.

I've not heard of that before, so some more details over the phone might be helpful to resolve your query.
