Whilst playing a game, the Power went out. After it had returned, i could not turn on my ps3 (Aus, 80gb). The ps3 simply stays on Standby (Red light). And due to the fact that my ON button isn't working, i cant turn it on. Because the power went out the controllers were disconnected and so i cant use them to turn the ps3 back on. I have tried Plugging them in and pressing the Ps button. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Is there a disc inside the console, if not try putting one in so that it can power it on?

Yeah, theres already a disc inside. Any other suggestions?

So your ON button isn't working...but is your EJECT button all good?

Also, what model PS3 is it?

Both ON and Eject are broken. The model is 80gb Fat

Ok then, you might have to open her up and take the disc out?

this might sound a little stupid and u might have tried it already but have you turned the power off at the back of the console and then tried to turn it on with the button on the front of the ps3? mine used to do this all the time, it would shut off after about 5 minutes of play and then i would have to turn it back on at the console. might also be time to get rid of it now while it still works, mine got YLOD the other day. it had a good run though, it had been turning itself off for well over a year now. its seems once they start turning themselves off they dont last long at all for most people

Okay. DON'T open the console to remove the disc. Just try the following -

Hold down on eject. Whilst holding down, flick the back power switch to 'On' and the fans should kick into gear. This will eject the disc.

Regarding the console's power issue, can you turn it on using the controller?
