Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

I recently hired RDR and played it for the weekend till my copy arrived in the post today. I returned the rented copy but my save game does not seem to load on the new copy. Why???

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

Where did you get the copy of RDR from?? It may be an overseas copy of the game which might cause the save game not to load at all as it is a different disc id.

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

also remember if it is reigon 3 and you have an Australian Playstation Network account, you wont be able to download any of the DLC that comes out in future. Its because most games require an Australian copy of the disc to work with the DLC from our store.

Just a heads up for later thats all

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

Yep, the games are region free but the DLC is region locked. Stupid Idea $ony, but you make more stolen money that way.

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

I don't feel that it is a stupid idea. The system that they have makes games that are not released here accessable to the people that enjoy them.

As a baseball fan I am able to play the MBL 10 The Show even though it was not released in Australia. Sure if any DLC comes out for it I am not able to use it, but at least I get to play the main game and get enjoyment out of it.

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

The problem is people buy games from overseas or even the shops here then when DLC comes out they buy it from the local PSN and it doesnt match up with the game they brought. Then when you talk to $ony about it they say "bad luck" and they keep your money. They should refund it and remove it from your download list OR the smarter way would be to delete it from your account and give you a code to download the correct one that way you get what you paid for and they can keep your money not force you to pay them even more money for something that you shouldn't have to pay double for in the first place.

I have a few games that are US version and its NOT my fault. I brought them from shops here in Aus but thats the only version they have. 1 example is Riddick. Thats from JB Hifi and they only have the US version. If you go today and get it thats the version you will get. If I get the AUS DLC it wont work so who is to blame for that?
I have 3 games that are suppose to be AUS versions as they are all brought from AUS shops but they are US versions. There SHOULD be a refund policy for DLC as its not always your fault.

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

From what you said, it would be the store at fault instead of Sony in my opinion.

If they are selling copies of the game that are from overseas, they would not be getting those game from Australian distributors. They would be getting them imported or buying them 2nd hand off consumers.

As far as I know Sony have never ever said that the DLC will work with all discs, and if a person working in a retailer store says different or do not clarify to a consumer, how is that the manufactures fault.

Possibly retail stores need more education about this issue, from either Sony or the consumer feedback, but I think especially with the amount of people with a US copy of Modern Warfare 2, the stores might start looking more into the 2nd hand marked so there will not be as may issues.

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

The games I mainly have problems with a ones I buy on launch day. I got Riddick on its launch day and its the US version. Same with Merceneries 2 and COD4. All US copies from JB Hifi which is not a small shop.

Re: Save Game Files For Red Dead Redemption

I'm also having issues with RDR save game.. I hired it out about 2 weeks ago, played for a week, now i have just hired it out again (from the same place) and this time it doesn't detect my save data :'(

I doubt the video store would have bought multiple versions of the same game (ie: region 4 + some other region). So the only other assumption i can make is that RDR save data is disc specific? Is this right?

I'm kinda ***** off, because this means I cannot hire out RDR, I have spent $40NZD hiring it out for 2x 1 week periods, and now my only option is to buy it?? Thanks a lot sony/rockstar...
