Re: Stolen PS3

@iambonedaddy2008
Speaking from a non-gaming related perspective, if a thief looted your brother's house, and took a lot more than just the PS3, he probably plans on selling it to an unwary customer. And honestly, today's legal system is corrupt and an absolute fail, so the police could care less about the theft.

Re: Stolen PS3

hi,

My brand new PlayStation 3 was stolen so i did not set up an account is there a way Sony can track it down?

Please use plain text.

Re: Stolen PS3

Guys unfortunately we cannot provide a tracking service for stolen consoles.

If you have a PSN account we suggest jumping opn the website and changing the password if you have auto sign in on.

Also please make sure you register your consoles serial number and model number on the same website incase you need to make some sort of insurance claim and the insurer needs the serial number or something.

This only takes a second and could save some trouble claiming.

Re: Stolen PS3

this is y i don't want too buy a preownd ps3 but i don't have enought for a new one. im worried if i buy one say off crigslist that ill go online with it and then have the cops knocking on my door! so there is noway of tracking where the ps3 is?  so it would be safe for me to by a preownd?

Re: Stolen PS3

You dont have to worry about your account. The PS3 sends information to $ony even if its NOT online. If its connected to a network and that network has internet access then it will "phone home" so $ony can tell where the PS3 is even if its a different account or even if its no account at all.

and spillmyheart4u I would advise to NOT get a 2nd hand PS3 as $ony are now banning consoles so the chance you get a banned console is high now.
PS3 - It only DID everything, now it does A LOT LESS THAT IT DID.

Re: Stolen PS3

I have gotten my PS3 stole while I was at work, I want to use my serial code to find my location of it; can I do that?

Re: Stolen PS3

If you report your console stolen, to the Police, and give them the serial number, that will assist them in finding your console.

Re: Stolen PS3

Doesn't sound like it, if your step dad took your PS3, you'd have to ask him for it back.
