Re: Upgrading HDD?

Any notebook sized (but no more than 9.5mm thick - some of the larger capacity drives are 12.5mm thick and will not fit) SATA drive will do. A 5400 RPM drive is recommended, but 7200 will still work. You should be able to find one in any decent computer/electronics store, or in an online store.

Since you have an older model PS3, I would recommend having a good set of screwdrivers, some spray lubricant (such as CRC 5.56) and a pair of pliers handy. The screws holding the harddrive on the tray will be tight, and very easy to strip. I suggest spraying a little lubricant on them and loosening them gently with the pliers before using the screwdriver.
