i am having the same problem with my ps3. 2 weeks out of warranty will sony solve the problem

mine used to do this until it finaly got YLOD. from what i have read it is the first signs it is coming

sorry, forgot to update this thread.

My issue has been resolved by ... buying me a new power cable.

so it has nothing to do (i think) with the console itself.

so try using a new power cable and see if that still happening.

if not, and since it's only 2 weeks, just give them a call anyway.

the YLoD is definitely something to do with the console itself.

been having a similar problem with my ps3...

when i shut it down, it shuts all the way down...no lights

have to press the power switch twice to get it back on..

been happening since i got gt5...
