Thanks Fury, you hit the nail on the head in most ya comments and remained tactful helping FRO calm down a notch.

See, isn't it great when we can all talk about matters without resorting to handbags :smileytongue:

Anywho now I'm back from spending the day out in Brighton and turning into a lobster and now feeling very sore and worse for wear, allow me to have the decency to respond in kind, without hopefully poking this thread into a fire again.

You made quite a big post directed towards me so please bare with me whilist I attempt to answer your queries and issues bit by bit.  So find me replies in red, no wait, lets go with blue (PlayStation branding and Sheffield Wednesday colours)

@ross First of all, thank you for going to the trouble of adding a link to your seuss quip. Unfortunately i am already reading a book an take many months to do that so maybe next year,if you buy it for me? I wonder if there's a book you have read? The Job Description of a Sony Employee??

No worries about the linky, although I was hoping to find a Youtube embed of Thing One and Thing two doing the opposite of what anyone mentions and suggests.  It would have been more apt I have thought.  Considering how you were advising the opposite of what I suggested.

Of course I have read the job description of my role here on the Community Team, it be silly if I didn't, although that doesn't count as a book, which I'm sure you know.

Books I like if ya interested, are mainly books by Bernard Cornwell.  Amazing author who has a great ability to really immerse you into an historic era and it's like you are on the battlefields yourself (and I'm not just talking about his Sharpe books).  Danny Wallace books make me cry with laughter and it's extremely hard not to read his books and laugh out loud.  So I tend to end up looking like a loony on the train.  Anywho there are many books I like to read but I thought I mention those two as they are some of my favourite authors.

I don't have a problem with you personally ross an i like the fact you are a frequent poster here as for many eons, getting a moderator to talk here was like pulling teeth so amen to that,

I think though you should realise you have a line drawn in you,on one side is your job,the other side your friends,if you start to blur that line your in for trouble don't you agree?

I most certainly do agree sir.  Although I do make an effort to be friendly with you all, everyone should not use my kindness in vain and feel they are immune from moderation.

Not to be so Cliché but if you have done the crime (as in break the House Rules of this forum or broke the terms and conditions of any PSN service like PlayStation Home or even XMB messaging) then you will indeed do the time (be issued a ban or at the very least an official warning) regardless if you speak to me, if you have never interacted with me or if your a known abuser.

If people are threatening you with bans as they are "friends" with a moderator then don't feel alarmed.  The Community Team wont act on hearsay and only act on actual evidence (from a grief report for instance).

Personally i've had at least 5 people say to me for various reasons they are going to use their friendship with a moderator against me so i think i feel i've every right to voice my concern over something i've experienced an no doubt will keep doing so.

Same as above.  If you have been found to broken any T&C's or House Rules etc then it will be acted upon.  If you haven't done anything then you haven't got anything to worry about.  We don't take sides we just deal with the evidence at hand.

As i've stated above ross,i find some of the people you are calling decent home users not to be,i find in most cases the ones that sing like bumblebees in front of you have the worst sting, again, that's my experience an i have every right to voice it.

Obviously that's your opinion based on your own reasons no doubt.

My own opinion is that anyone who goes out their way to make an event for the community to have more fun and get to know each other more I feel deserves kudos.  Such as the most recent Poker event by Englishgolfer and Renegade.  Top idea!

Anyone who is seen to be willing to help the Home community is a decent member to me.

I always find it helps the community spirit by encouraging and allowing their creativity to blossom rather than poo poo it, despite what their past behaviour mind of been.

Also ross,i saw you lately called some home users trolls an chipmunks, now altho thats technically correct i dont you are meant to say that are you? Do your bosses call their clients ***** an balls? I'd guess not.

It was said in jest and as a general statement.  Obviously I didn't target any specific group or users with those names, if I did then you will make a good point that I shouldn't be doing it.  I hardly think you can compare the two scenarios you mentioned together.

Text can be read out of context and I guess that's what's happened here.  If so, I will make more of an effort to show the real meaning in future or even not to say it at all if it can be taken out of context.

but another note,an since you responded to this so quickly yesterday you brought forth the real question i want to ask you ross, why mr moderator, friend of the accused, did you allow someone to cause an actual criminal offence (slander) against another user on here,by allowing them to state as fact that they had comitted an unlawful act on home?? Answer that an we can talk.

To be honest I have no idea who you are talking about or what situation.  If you see something that needs to be moderated on the forum and for any reason we haven't come across it then just flag it and grief report it for us and one of the Community Team will deal with it for you.

To save this thread from being derailed too much then it already has done, perhaps this is best left for PM's.  Feel free to PM me with your concerns anytime and I will reply when I get around to it.

i may have missed out somethings i meant to reply too but as you can all see,you have kept me busy enough lol Oh avatar person, yes keep ignoring me,i find your large blue text silly, thanks .

Ooops hope ya don't mind my blue text, it's too late now anyway

On a side note, nerogate as you call it lol, surely whatever happend there is in the past now.  I am not Emperor Nero I am but a humble Lord. :King:

Re: A lackluster experience.

[ Edited ]

I think something liked this poped up around the time TedTheDog was Community Manager.

I really like to call it a bubble community, This kind of community always has a Mod friend around home and around them, and its the same people every time, If you want to be in the bubble community, then you need to be super cool, this bubble community is far from perfect however, There is a certain MVP that I know of, that sexualy talked towards a very old Home member, and a pretty cool person, lalapro. Asking her for some rather rude pictures. I'm pretty sure the guy knows who he is. I don't understand how Mod's even hang around with some of the most criminal like people in home, it's fine having a little bubble community, with people who so happen to hang around the Forums a lot, and it may not be as big as it use to be, but I find they're let of with a lot more things.

I can remember a time when I was with a couple of people on the Forum when a certain mod appeared out of the blue, it was a friend of someone, the mod then started using moderation only commands like freezing people on the spot, and teleporting people. I'm not sure if this still happens and if the likes of LordRoss does it, but if you seriously want a strong community, bubble groups are is not the way to go. Thing like favortism will pop up, corrupted MVP's will be given MVP titles despite there sexual requests to members like lalapro. Lalapro was like a great voice of the people, yet the bubble's would disrespect her in so many ways when she would encounter them, I guess this is why I never go to community meet ups, because I've seen first hand how some of the well known community people have been in the past, and know they're just the same, no disrespect to anyone of course.

Lalapro was picked on so much by the bubbles. (Screenshots of this can be seen somewhere, I forget where) She actually posted fake RIP messages on her twitter just so she could get them away from her. She made up quite a lot of things :/. Use to be a good friend of her's but she never really talks to much anymore. Not even to me. =)

Re: A lackluster experience.

I like to think she made the fake RIP thing for attention.
And anyways, as previous staff roster has proven - Good people keep their jobs, bad ones don't, and others simply move on. I'd like to think those days are gone, and you will always get the odd weirdo who would rather spend their sunny weekend waiting 8 hours a time on PSN for their mod friend to come on and join them in the same game just to get on their good side.

The mods don't ask for these bubble communities so to speak it unfortunately happens anywhere where moderators have more interaction with community members. I like to think when Home came out it was a very new experience for some mods as well and they didn't know how to draw a line. But I think the current team do.

Re: A lackluster experience.

Yeah probably was for some kind of attention as well, I'd have to agree. She did make up a lot of things like I said :/ That was probably the main reason why she was picked on or something. But whatever.. ^.^. I'll take your word for it that the mods we have now are way different :] Most of the bubble's I was talking about don't really seem to be around as much, most of them went over to the US I believe, so I'm not really talking about any current bubbles but I'm pretty sure it's still the same thing going on ^-   ^
