Personally would love to see the bacon companion come in as it would be something that people have agreed to be made. If enough people want it, then why not? Would be nice to see more things like this, perhaps even a poll on what should be created.

Thanks Loonytoon - this is the attitude to have!

The Bacon Companion idea came out of the blue, and we never planned for it to go anywhere, but it's proven to be quite a popular idea!

Ultimately, though, it's supposed to be a bit of fun and wouldn't affect the quality or decisions we make on the rest of our content.

Then why not become the first developer to give us interactive companions? :smileywink: or at least give them some sounds. Anything that makes them more interesting. All companions follow us around. What about the next big thing? A dog that barks and does tricks on deman like i don't know something silly like roll over or give a paw but allow us to interact with them to do it rather than them just being stuck on a loop.

I already know that something like this can be down. Simply because well look at the Dice companion for example, we interact with it by using the six axis. Then there's PODI, we wave at it and it activates it. So it can be done. What about waving at the dog for it to give a paw and curtsey to make it roll over. A lot like the animated robot dog i guess but made into a companion. >_<

A Bacon Companion is an unusual idea. Its unique and funny in its own right.

 

While I myself will not get it, I know of others who will get it just for the sake of it.

 

Like a few have already said it is something that will be used once or twice then put in storage. But one day in the future that bacon companion will be perfect for something and they will pull it out and put their bacon on display.

 

So I say go for it. Sell it. Its a good idea. People will buy it.

What is possible to do with an active object, such as PODI, isn't the same as what we're able to do with a companion.

 

We'd love to be able to make more interactive companions for you guys, and have a plethora of ideas we're just itching to make happen!


Unfortunately we can't do anything like this with the current build of Home. But if Home ever supports more functionality in companions, well, you'll definitely be seeing some amazing creations from Lockwood!

Take a look at the game dungeon defenders for the pc they have excellent companions

Scroll down a little to see :smileyhappy: some good ideas right there, genies, fairies, maybe a little companion of yourself even if this was possible same clothes etc as when you change it changes with you the possibilities are endless.
