Re: Blueprint: Home - Reactions and Feedback

[ Edited ]

Hey Joe,

I don't want to sound bad as this is an really awsome apartment, well ok i do make this you guys just gave me the ability :smileytongue:

But you know what i mean...

Just did a quick run to see what's possible for me.

It's just some things bug me, for example the corners when i create a room they are kinda round in corners and i can't use them with furniture like Sofa's as i want to :smileysad:

2 Other things... i don't like the huge concrete block with my Home on it, wouldn't it look much better if it's a green area like a garden and maybe it would be possible to add some fence in 'Features'... it looks kinda died.

Also the door's are way too tall, they could be abit smaller to be honest

But nDreams you made a very good job with this :smileyhappy:

Re: Blueprint: Home - Reactions and Feedback

So far a few issues have crept in but could be be solved in a couple of minutes. Unfortunately I seem to be currently stuck in a bug after using the space for well over an hour and having things work well. I've been stuck on the "Building" screen now for the past 10 minutes, can't press start to quit and select wont allow me to use the safe screen menu to go to another apartment.

Looking like the only solution at present is to quit out of Home and reload it. Hopefully the save remains.

Overall it's a good start and with future additions it'll work out for the better. At the moment it's all about taking the time to really sit down and figure out all the features and check what works well and what doesn't. Started right off naming a save Trial and Error which is going to be fine for messing around with, trying out ideas and seeing how things look.

It's a simple editor but it's working within the confines of Home itself so it's pretty impressive for what's being allowed. Looking forward to getting other packs so I can have the look that I'd really like.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Loonytoon what exactly were you doing when it crashed on you? I'll get our guys to have a look at it :smileyhappy:

Had just clicked to save and build. It went through the loading textures screen but nothing was showing up.  It then sat on the building screen, empty for quite some time and the only option was to quit Home via XMB. Prior to that everything had been working fine and the builds had no issues.

Just seemed to bug out and stop working. Without fully crashing.

Re: Blueprint: Home - Reactions and Feedback

I had the same issue as Loonytoon but it is working for me now. Personally I think the mountain valley section shouldnt have a concrete area to build on but a grassy looking one.

As for the space dome I was going to make a space ship but when I tried to make a view screen using the windows I noticed no matter how close to the dome I got I'd still see a bit of the wall. It's only minor niggles though.

I find the editior easy to use and I've managed to build one or two little spaces including a castle and a small penthouse batchelor pad. For the space set though is it possible for you to make a screen stand furniture with a picture of space on it so that I can place it behind the window to maintain the illusion of being on a spaceship.

Also small tip for anyone wanting to place a large item of furniture in a room, make a big doorway then place the furniture then go back then delete the unwanted doorway sections. Saved me a lot of trouble trying to manouvre a bed into a bedroom. :smileyvery-happy:

I wonder if the stage set stuff from Loot fit the buildings. If so, that'll open up all sorts of options... Big old stage sets. Could be fun.

EDIT: Hmm. new idea, watery area part beach, part water. Build area is wooden planking.

An ability to put down the build area foundations, or remove them leaving the space in a similar state as the area around the build area is now.

I'm sure I'll come up with others as time goes by.

Re: Blueprint: Home - Reactions and Feedback

Oh, time out on editing has expired on my last post, so double posting, sorry.

Could you raise the ceiling on the space please? Several bits of furniture and other goodies don't fit the space as they're too tall.

Re: Blueprint: Home - Reactions and Feedback

Nice concept but a bit similar to the sims series. The building feature is bland as it is soley using quadelalerals and a sculpting system should be included to create more polygos in the building. Textures need to be remade to meet the quality of competitors currently in the home industry. I suggest getting designs from proffessional arcihtects and improving the over all quality of the system. Its more a functional utility than an aesthetically magnificent piece, i suggest removal off the mainstream stores and enter more devlopment before re introduction.
It's my time to go now so if you would'nt mind, could you open the gates?
