I was talking to a friend on Home earlier today who has recently been very ill from gaming on PS3 or on Home for around 20 hours per day, and he has been advised by doctors to limit his playtime to 4-5 daily in future.
I talked with him about ways he could help himself, like keeping windows open in the room, using an electric fan, going outside to smoke, keeping a full bottle of water nearby and using a footstool on his sofa so he won't lean forward too much (ever done this in an intense game moment?), so he wont strain his eyes and back.
I can relate the to times i have spent hours and hours running around Home chatting or on minigames, etc.
What is the experience of others here on this? And what tips would you share?
The obvious "go outside lol" answer is inevitable, but for those with addictive personas, the "snap out of it" approach is not very helpful.
So, for those of you who spend a lot of time there...how do you all keep your health on Home?

I think the only real way to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to find balance in anything you do. Too much of anything, even if good for you at first, can be bad in the long run. I think your friend should follow his doctors advise and cut the daily hours down. That being said, when I am online for long periods at a time, I force myself to drink lots of fluids, so that I’m forced to get up frequently. Hard to ignore a full bladder, even during the most intense of battles or interesting conversations. ![]()

I don't spend much more than 1-2 hours on Home now days, mostly due to boredom. Spending a lot of hours on Playstation Home is VERY unhealthy both physically and psychologically. My advices are, sleep at least 9 hours a day (recommended time), dedicate some time to family / house work, try to go outside as much as you can, maybe not for a walk (some people cant feel bothered to walk) but to take out the trash, wash the car (if you have any), mow the lawn (if any) etc etc... The main reason why people stay so many hours on video games / Internet is due to the fact they don't have a routine to follow.
TL;DR - Find a routine to keep yourself busy.

Thank you, guys.
He does suffer from insomnia and can go days without sleeping at his worst, so yes he needs to get his body clock on track...probably needs more activity to prompt him to rest. He very much needs routine also, in fact he felt motivated to tidy up the room and clear the coffee table of debris after I chatted with him, and he felt good when he got around to it.

My Home addiction was bad for the 1st 2 years Home came out. I used to be on around 6+ hours ... after an hours gaming I would boot straight into Home and quite easily waste away hours ... sometimes I even fell asleep with it playing.
It was unreal how much I had adopted Home into my everyday life, even before Xi was going on I was completely immersed in Home and blured the bounderies of what was real and what was Home. It came to the point where when I ventured outside I would be waiting for someone to come and say "Hello" , " Where are you from". Then when Xi came I used to go out expecting to see and Xi Fragements or them videos playing in public.
Then my girlfriend helped me by taking my mind off it as well as weeding me off it and now I only use it for an hour (if that).

Lol Fritch, I've done that before....parked my ava somewhere and just fell asleep!
My other half saw how drowsey i was once, he just took the pad out my hand and said "Enough." Since then I've been more inclined to just park in an apartment or log off so I can get things done in the house, etc.
Other times I've come out of a nap and found my Back Soon ava seated and surrounded by hug-spooners, lol

I don't need them, anyway! ![]()
Thanks btw
the naughty corner gets boring after a while.
I think you gave him good advice on how not to fatigue during his sessions. I'd say it's good advice to stop him fatiguing but would encourage him to play for longer periods.
You'll have to find ways to feed his habit away from his home, as this will tire him and and overall limit how much time he can spend gaming indoors. Look for game tournaments local to him and boost his confidence, maybe.
