I was wondering if it is a good idea on ps home to be able to switch the time in your personal space. For example, press start, personal, change personal space, time and then have a list of hours if the day like 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, 6 am, 7 am and going all the way to midnight

Seeing as there isn't a day-night cycle in Home this would be a bit pointless and as the cycle has been suggested many times I'm sure they have already considered it.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

Hi, I'm new to Home and these forum so I'm not sure if this has been asked.

In Home there are some players claiming to be moderators. Some seem obvious fakes while others are uncertain to me. My question is do all Moderators of Home have the flashing white texts when chatting with the exclaimation mark? Or do some moderators "turn off" their moderator flashes and appear like normal player's chat text? I understand (from FAQ) that moderators have <MOD> attached to their names but are they able to turn these titles on and off?

When moderators are going about doing their moderator business in Home, yes there should be a prefix before their name and their text will flash.  The prefix will either say something like MOD or EN-MOD or whatever their territory is.

Some mods do socialise with friends from the forum in Home and those friends may refer to their job and the mods may comment on them.  But if you are suspicious about anyone you think is claiming to be a moderator when they aren't all you have to do is report, we all know each others name after all :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

[ Edited ]

I have really started to give up on reporting people. Im very unsure if it works or not. There is not a single day that goes by where I can just enjoy my time on PS Home unless im forced to go to the clubhouse, or other private spaces with my friends. Its impossible to socialise anywhere outside of these areas without being swarmed over, harassed, sexually harassed and generally abused. Its disgusting.

I will agree, my name doesnt help so much but If i had known about home and how much I would go on it before I picked it, I woulda have chosen something else.

I think a little message of some sort would be a great way to let people know that something has been dealt with. Maybe not specific punishment but just anything....Although at the same time i can see Automated Messages 'saying' its been dealt with being used lol But really, with the
amount of reports I end up sending, it must look like some sort of joke to Sony. Some people I report up to 3/4 times (for different offenses, not sure if 1 will notify them of all offences or just that specific one) Every night myself and my female friends are forces to go to private areas, Bowling is out of the question, Singstar is disgraceful, home square is probably the worst !

There should DEFINATELY be moderators moving around home with their tags clearly visible, maybe even some sort of notification of how many Mods are in the zone when you go into an area ould be great. Say you go into home square, the first thing in your chatbox will say eg : 'Number of MODs in Zone: 2' If that makes sense. That would make a great deterrent and would save a lot of reports being sent saving you guys time and money. Surely you must agree with this.

My final point is - The people that walk around home and send messages via PSN....Again, every single day i will get some sort of message from a random person saying : You like sex? wanna *****? etc etc etc etc etc ARGH.....Sure we can block these people but will reporting these people get the results wanted aswell? Or is this entirely outside of home? There was something else i needed to write but have forgotten for now and will edit if i remember. Sorry its so long, needed to vent it out and a reply would be even more fantastic

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I have seen and "heard" the Home Moderators in action many times. I have spoken to a few myself. Sometimes they have even acknowledged receiving my reports and discussing them. They have even thanked me. (That's ammo for the haters I am sure) I had also been whisked away to have a short five minute talk once to clarify an issue.

I have seen Moderators suggest that people or individuals modify their behavior and give warnings. I have seen particularly bad people be temporarily disciplined (put in a corner) for being rude, unrepentant and nasty. And I have had people state that they had been away for a while because they had been suspended or banned.

Moderators do what they are supposed to. Their job is most often thankless and they are often "verally" abused by people while in Home doing their jobs. Just like someone arguing or shouting at a police officer who had only asked them to keep the noise down.

I do feel that discussions like this, with so many negative remarks, does encourage people to talk back and openly call the Moderators names while in Home. I feel such discussions do not help the community to understand the job of the Moderator or the rules which we are supposed to follow and they, the Moderators, are charged to enforce.

Being a Moderator on any platform, game or forum is a pretty thankless job. Sometimes the hate for them extends well beyond the media that they operate. They are attacked in PMs, emails, "fan" forums and blogs. Rarely, if ever, are they given thanks for the work that they do. Most of the communication about them, or directed towards them, is of the negative nature. That says a lot about us as a community, a society.
