Re: Home Moderation FAQ

Hey Ted, i don't know if this is the right place to voice this but you're a moderator so it can't do any harm. On the Bowling Alley there's several people dressed up as plants, boxes etc. and all they do is sit in at the top of the lane so you can't see anything or play.
They are really frickin annoying so could you (or whoevers in charge) please put in an invisible wall around the playing area to stop it?
Cheers

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

Ask them politely to move. If they refuse, or talk back, simply report them for disrupting the game. It'll catch up with them soon enough.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I'm so relieved now...really..I feel so much better, knowing that when I'm abused by some very nasty person calling me all kinds of names for no reason, that someone invisible really is seeing it and taking notes...(sigh) I'll sleep so much better tonight.....lol

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I whole-heartedly agree on the bowling game and invisible barrier when a game is in session by a group in the que. I love to bowl on Home, unfortunately it becomes a "terrorizing experience" with disgruntled or disgusting users taking their abuse out on other people who cannot defend themselves because they are playing the game. Wake up somebody- whoever designs these things and correct this issue. This is no longer fun!  People who do this are in violation of Playstation rules of good conduct, but it seems they never get taken off no matter how many times they are reported for it. I no longer go to the North American bowling alley because of it, nor the EU alley either, and I encourage others to boycott the place. Playstation HOme is suppose to be for the fun and enjoyment of it's users, these Bowling alley bullies are ruining Home Network! A simple redesign of the game is all that is needed to prevent this behavior. During a game, then these guy's can go lap dance each other in a corner!

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I believe a simple way of handling rude people is this:

If at least 3 ppl (or more) in any given area (location) report the same individual for offenses, that person reported should be hit with a ban of some sort. 1st offense: 3 days  2nd offense:  a week...and so forth up the ladder.

In the past in order to try and protect myself, I've told nasty types "you have 5 chances before being banned-I'm reporting you now thats #1 (which I really do) if they don't stop; I tell them:  "ok heres #2" (and I actually do report a second time) if still they don't stop i tell them "Ok here's #3" (and I do report them a 3rd time), if that still isn't enough and they keep it up I'll say "OK- here's #4"  (and I do report a 4th time really) Usually by now- thats enough to make them leave- but on rare occassions even that doesn't do it so I say "OK- this will be #5 - after 5 reports - its Good-bye- your banned the next time u try to sign on HOme" (I know- I lied but at this point I have no alternatives except to leave my friends and go elsewhere and they win) 9 out of 10 times - that does it and the offender finally gets the message and leaves to go bother some other poor soul...A few ppl even that doesn't work- they simply don't care and these are the same kinds of people that beat up  little old ladies for their social security checks....lol

I really don't know what other alternative there is, if the governing authority won't take action and take these offenders accounts away from them. The only thiing to do is just go somewhere else and let them beat up somebody else online. In real life of course, they would be facing a real person and that's something these kinds of people are too afraid to do so they bully people online instead where they are sitting at their little consoles, drooling all over themselves for the pain their causing. In short..Playstation Home really IS NOT for kids....I would never let my child be on Play station Home at least until they were old enough to make their own decisions.

Play Station Home really is for Grown-ups despite the number of "kiddie style" games that are on it. There are ways of handling situations on this Virtual Network that are fair to everyone and at the same time, limit the abuse that does go on. It only takes some better thought and improving on the concept.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

Yes Conrad.....we all know that....and many of us who are abused do just that, but the abuse still continues from these individuals who make our Home experience a not so rewarding adventure into the land of make believe "as Sony dubbs it"....lol... Personally when it happens to me, I do exactly as you suggested, I try not to loose my cool, remain calm and quietly either "ignore" "block" or "report" the individual. Fortunately I have a rather "fast" connect time and seem to be able to "react" much quicker than most of my friends who I may be with at the time...so while I am standing a distance away- I have to watch my poor girlfriend now being "virtually attacked" by some creep who is crouched between her legs while she is trying to play "catch-up" with the lag. I don't know what the answer is to this, I'm not a technological electrtonic wiz kid anymore. I guess the real answer is to just turn the thing off and forget about Home Network entirely- at least until the blood pressure cools back down again!...lol   I believe the 5 report idea and your banned or the multiple person reporting an individual may be a partial solution. Others may have other ideas.

I love Home Network- have been a player of it now for over 2 years- I support it's concept and I enjoy meeting ppl all over the world. The 5 report idea & the multiple report can work universally worldwide for any Region. Its either that or treat Home Network like an expensive carton of cigarettes today- make it so expensive- only the most affluent can play- sort of like Congress?
