Re: Home Moderation FAQ

If the mods are moving people around at random then that is also abuse.

Defeats the object of having them in the first place doesn't it.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I think the idea of invisible mods is great. It means that someone can't abuse someone and then act all innocent and friendly just because a mod is around.

However.... I do think some sort of visible presence would act as a deterent to people who abuse the service

I think there needs to be a balance. Invisible mods to catch people behaving badly, but also visible mods to discourage people from bad behavior in the first place.

As the saying goes, prevention is cheaper than the cure. Simply catching and punishing the offenders (the cure)
SCEE should be a visible force within Home to discourage the bad behavior in the first place (prevention)

That is a very good idea.

In the same theme, how about using one billboard / sign in the square with a simple message like "Do not abuse others ...we ARE watching."

I know we all acknowledge this when we sign in, but this would serve as a visual reminder the same way as seeing a Mod wandering about.

jess bless,

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I agree with people that want a text message saying that somebody was banned for something or that so many people were banned.
The text in message of the day doesn't work as most people skip it. And only a fraction of HOME population comes here to read about mods.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

@woogy71 and anyone else having trouble with harrassment. I find the best way to deal with these people is not to engage them in conversation at all. Say nothing to them, give them a mute and carry on with your business. These people feed off attention, and if they get none, they move on to bother someone else. #1 rule of the internet: Don't feed the trolls.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I wasn't aware of that mute facility until couple weeks ago & have since been using it a lot.

However, another problem I was having was with the console freezing when trying to enter games, mainly pool. Push'x' to enter & system freezes & forced to shut down via buttons on console or worse hard switch at back if that doesn't respond. This has happened frequently & I've contacted scee about it who claim they're not aware of any issues with Home which is a joke, there are pages of problems with Home & everybody I know has the same freezing issue I have.

Now whilst this does happen at random it mainly happens when more than two people try to enter a pool game & one ends up losing out. This is another method of the pool table or Home 'bullies'. If you occupy a table  waiting for an opponent & two people turn up at table they start & stop the game until they both manage to get on & squeeze you out, your system freezes or you just get fed up of them.

Well I am fed up, despite the mute button & reporting of people, it's just not enough. I'm not risking my console/hard drive for this platform & these morons. And to those of you who say to just ignore these people I say you are either not a female or been witness to the torrent of verbal sexual abuse women suffer on Home. It's too much for me to ignore & certainly my female friend, neither of us go on Home any longer.

I hope somebody from sony or scee is reading.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I might get banned tomorrow for reporting a racist because he was sitting next to a minor who I told I was going to block since he was 13 on Sunday and until 5 mins earlier had been a friend. In order to get rid of the racist, minor and cronies I pretended to be a mod since I was with some non white peeps at the time and it was tres uncool. Turns out I am being reported by those who shud already be blanket banned lmao.

Wud be nice for sony to be able to triangulate positions of avatars (in relation to each other) and the subsequent conversations which took place to to re-enact the events in question.

It wud also be nice for mods to have a greater physcial presence which may keep some of less balanced peeps more in check obviously some more stealthy as is too.

I appreciate u don't hire mods but put me on the list too if ur looking since I have been a mod elsewhere too.

Re: Home Moderation FAQ

I agree artur1982 and I apoligise but it was the least offensive way to get rid of the wholly undesireables as quick as possible. In the same respect that we shudn't have racists on the board anyway. In the EU it is illegal to comment in a racist way in public and in the UK if these users are reported the police are obliged to investigate with the ISP as I have done as a mod on another forum.

Unfortunately for those guys they got fired when the police came to their work since they did it on office time.

Please can we have a report option for kids too way to many sub 16 year olds too and it is better for all that way not that content contains adult content just orientated towards older peeps.
