Well that was a fun night hosting the Q&A session with Hellfire Games. Think we got alot of information covered. Hope everyone that attended, managed to get their questions answered and had fun. 

Keep an eye on AlphaZone4, Homestation Magazine, GamerIndepth and other Home community sites for write-ups with all the information we managed to gather on Home Tycoon.

I attended the QA and I wrote down all his answers, I guess you can guess the questions if you read them:

You will able to earn Premium content.
The City uses a happiness meter for the population
You are able to expand the space by buying more ground if the city runs out of room
You have to buy the Home Tycoon space to start building
The game is closer to Sim City then Farmville
There will be HT clothes and rewards
You will be able to purchase premium currency bundles similar to Cutthroats
Friends can visit your City even if you are offline
You play the mayor of the City, which you start from scratch
You can walk in the city with your own avatar, not a avtar designed for the game, but your own!
You wont spend $ on temporary items, buildings you remove go back in inventory
The game will have a sort of progression system
You cant make make real cities
you can not alter the shape of the land
the game uses a grid system
You build from a birdseye view
You can zoom in and walk the streets
you and your friends can drive cars
the economy is based on your population and workforce
there is a beach
there will be Police missions (Car chases, but no shoot outs)
The game will be suitable for all ages
You can set the time of day, but it also has a day night cycle
weather effects, but only rain for now
you can buy land expansions and content packs
you can buy mission packs
you wont see people walking in the streets
there will be a huge train station that will function as a Hub to meet up and which conects to the city spaces
You will need to broker deals , buy land and get fundings to start building a building
missions will be asignments like build a police station, hospital etc.

Good list there, but that forth point is just a teensey bit off. I'm pretty sure he said it was free to play, the mayors office (where you build stuff etc) it accessed via the train in the station, as is everything else. I should point out here (lol, seems important) that you may NOT drive the trains! So yeah, from what I can gather we'll have "a lot" of space to play around in. Also, being able to drive with (or against?) your friends sounds cool.

The 'missions' just mentioned sound good too, from what I understand if you needed to build say, a fire dept you'll need to walk around and talk to key people within the city to make it a project, then get resources to build it. Doing that opens up another activity or mission and completion of them gets you rewards. Of which there are apparently "tonnes". This will also involve conversation trees. As mayor, you'll be responsible for the populace happiness too, but he was short on that overall effect, if much at all.

He also said that "the more creative you are in building your city, the more recognition you'll get", and there were talks of leaderboards for various achievements. Which makes me wonder what kind of buildings they have in the pipeline. Since he mentioned "ties to Novus Prime", could be a lot of sci-to stuff!

Some of them sound amazing the only put off I have is that 4th point. 

Also that sounds like a PSN type of game ... I'm just not sure all that would be smooth when playing in Home.
