After a while of not using home, I loaded it up. It informed me that an update was available. So, I downloaded the 32MB update and restarted. When it reloaded a message appeared saying that " home needs to reserve 3GB ". pressing X to continue, I get a message that says " Not enough free space to reserve 3528MB, please free up -22345MB of space then try again". I have 22GB of free space on my hard drive![]()
How can it be minus 22345MB, has anyone else had this problem?.
If you know whats wrong or there is sony tekkie that can help please let me know.
Thanks in advance
Sy.

How full is your HDD? You will need at least 3 GB for Home. It reserves that much automaticly.

I recently installed a linux partition on my hard drive for running other OS. I think this is what caused the mis-match in my free space calculation. I deleted the home file from the xmb and downloaded a new one still nothing.
So, I re-formatted my drive again restored my back up. Now it lets me in but all my data has gone. Avatars, home spaces are reset bought items are the only thing that is left.
Thanks for your comments they were helpful
